The Engagement in Chinatown

Wow! The colors, the food, the people, the couple. We were totally immersed in it. It was such a good time! I think I’ve written before that it is such an amazing experience if all parties involved are completely into it. Setting up scenarios and exploring this cultural mecca was worth the chill. Enjoy!

~Remembering 35mm~

A while back, I had the opportunity to work with Nicole Lenzen as well as other super talented women and during that shoot I realized what a joy and pain it was to work with film and lighting. I say this only because she e-mailed me the other day looking for the outtakes and it got me reminiscing about the pre-digital age when you had to actually set up and think about a shot in order to conserve on resources and time. Looking back on these photos today brings me twinge of nostalgia worth Blogging about. I miss shooting 35mm black and white. I think I might have to pick it back up again. CaChing, CaChing…there goes the bank account.

Sunday Afternoon in the Garden

This session couldn’t have gone any better. There must have been a wedding that was held the day before, because there were rose petals and hydrangea bouquets sprinkled all along the grounds. We took full advantage and played around as much as we could. Even Mom and Dad took part in petal throwing. Fun day, fun family. Happy Wednesday!

Fall….it’s finally here!

I went for a walk yesterday with my one and only and it finally felt like Fall was settling in. There is a local organic Farm at the end of our street (so lucky), and what we found on the way was pure joy. Neighbors with too many Persimmons and Pomegranates, where giving them away in boxes. I’ve included a super simple recipe for all you Persimmon lovers. If you’ve never tried one, PLEASE do. Heaven!

  • 2 persimmons, halved, each half sliced crosswise
  • Extra-virgin olive oil

Divide prosciutto slices among 8 plates. Arrange persimmon slices decoratively atop prosciutto. (Can be prepared 4 hours ahead. Cover with plastic wrap and chill.) Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with freshly ground pepper, and serve.
